MyOSCAR is a Personal Health Record (PHR) that offers patients access to and control of their health records, enabling them to become more actively involved in the management of their health. Patients are able to share their record with whomever they choose, enabling health care providers, family members or other selected individuals to have access to their information for viewing or updating.

• request copies of records from doctors which may be lab results, prescription profile, or scanned documents
• manage prescription renewals
• make appointment requests or cancel appointments
• access reliable health information about topics of interest

The system also allows patients to enter their own information for recording purposes, while maintaining a distinction between information entered by the patient and that entered by a health care provider. The ability to share access to records is also particularity helpful for those offering support and care to elderly family members. MyOSCAR transcends barriers between systems and providers, making it possible to create and maintain a continuous health record for each individual.
