With the release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, I thought it would be good to have a thread dedicated to Ubuntu for those interested or looking for help.

Each section serves a different purpose and an idea will only make it through the different stages of the process when it has enough support from the community. In order to keep the forum organized, only certain types of accounts will be able to create new posts in certain threads, but general accounts will still be able to view and reply to any post.

Pains
-Duplicates when fee schedule is update, the only fix is to manual fix it (main billing works fine, 3rd party billing is where the issue lies)

-The fees schedule is not updating the percentage codes correctly upon update of schedule (e codes, c codes, ETC)

-When editing a bill you need to resubmit the billing submission fee
(keep previous provider and the date)

-In other systems there the schema is extended to reference all of the fee codes.

-Difference between create an invoice in clinic and hospital and clinic (there are no super codes in hospital)

-billing for diabetes from flow chart - q040 - is checking against deleted bills - should only be checking against settled bills

-rejected invoice report- check boxes are available to only help you to see- need to have the ability to filter

-when billing a patient "submit and print" would be great in one screen (need to do a test case, can't facilitate accounts receivable) - work flow analysis of billing

- wants to be able to sort by billing of third parties (ie Sunlife) have the vendor on the third party reports

- The L file from the ministry are not readable in OSCAR (just want to be able to open them and look at it)- would be great to put that information in the patients chart, had outside use on this date

-In general a lot of clicking, saving some consistent data will do a lot to speed up the process

-simulation error- has a line if there is an error but it doesn't show the invoice #

- error codes come back on the entire invoice not the code that the error pertains to

Improvements
- A script that enables you to bill directly from Oscar

-Ability to attach a diagnose to different codes
-enter diagnostics code when it is required and not have to when it isn't needed

-A checklist column for the MOH file

-Add a hyper link to MOH return files to link to invoice number

-Need to have some role definition on whether the send button appears

-It would be nice to see the code on the billing correction page refreshing doesn't show the change you have to submit and then leave sit alone and then come back)

- if someone gets billed to OHIP but should be third party they should give you the ability to change to a third party, it needs to be totally recreated

-If letters aren't capitalized, OHIP rejects the code- OSCAR should auto cap all codes

-create a feature to put in the suffix for the last letter of the code

-calculation of time units, takes into account base plus any extra
(input the surgery start time and end time and it figures out the time units)

-billing portion of manual could be more in-depth
